ACH Manager


Position Summary

Manage the ACH department operation.



  1. Manage ACH operations team. Interview, hire, set high performance standards, and manage team performance in accordance with all applicable HR policies and procedures. Create a flexible and energized work environment, fostering an atmosphere that enables employee trust and engagement. Inspire confidence and motivate others to perform at their best. Develop and coach staff while effectively addressing performance issues.
  2. Train and onboard new team members and ensure cross training is completed for all functions. Conduct team meetings to communicate information and issues affecting the ACH operations. Coordinate staff coverage and schedules as needed.
  3. Act as an escalation point for the reconcilement of daily ACH processing for all incoming and outgoing ACH activity. Ensure staff are reviewing and reconciling all activities within daily deadlines.
  4. Research and resolve elevated issues from clients and team within scope of authority and control. Communicate resolution to the affected parties. Escalate and inform management of ACH risks outside of established risk limits.  
  5. Maintain operations, processes and procedures for the ACH team to ensure department runs smoothly and efficiently. Ensure procedures are current, controls are in place, and operations are compliant with all NACHA rules and government regulations. Recommend and implement changes to enhance operations.
  6. Manage ACH systems projects, conversions, elevations and implementations. Activities include; managing the setup and testing associated with new ACH originators, conduct end-to-end testing of the system’s software updates, manage the communication of system changes and train department staff on new procedures or processes resulting from projects.
  7. Build and maintain close working relationships with ACH department clients. Communicate status of changes and issues.
  8. Approve manual returns and GL entries requiring management approval levels.
  9. Oversee development and review of client billing and reports on key metrics.  
  10. Perform other related duties as assigned.
